POSITION SUMMARY:

Current Opening: One full-time position (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM M-F)

This position is to coordinate and provide guidance on Promoting Interoperability (PI), hospital eCQM measures, and Merit Based Incentive Payment system (MIPS), education, documentation, audits, validation, and attestation. Consults with and serves as a liaison with the clinical staff and appropriate committees for the purpose of ensuring coordination in systems planning, development and implementation of programs between the clinical departments, the Information Technology Department and appropriate external organizations. This position will also perform any/all vaccine coordination/education/guidelines for nursing staff in the clinic. This will include coordination with WYIR and specific guidelines and any/all audit information required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with hospital staff to test, monitor, and validate hospital electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM)
  • Works closely with nurse abstractor to meet regulatory reporting requirements and assist in hospital quality initiatives
  • Works closely with clinic staff to test, monitor, and validate clinic MIPS for eligible clinicians.
  • Identify, validate, and monitor appropriate workflows to ensure facility/clinician is meeting measure requirements
  • Lead Promoting Interoperability Steering Group
  • Collaborate with Chief Operation Officer, Clinic Nursing Director, and Quality Director in planning, implementing, and monitoring continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform regular EHR audits to ensure clinical staff are completing tasks per established guidelines.
  • Able to problem solve medical record issues of the Clinical Information systems and communicate with management compliance of hospital and clinic measures.
  • Works closely with clinic staff related to vaccine forecast, and education for patients and/or families.
  • Participates in assessments of nursing informatics environments, mapping of workflow and updating annually, analyzes pertinent information, and identifies implications for planning and development of both clinical services and educational programs.
  • Monitoring of updated guidelines and making sure all clinic staff are in compliance with any regulations related to the State of Wyoming vaccine program.
  • Complete monthly or as needed ordering of vaccines according to inventory. To include monthly temperature log and updating thermometers as needed per guidelines of the State of Wyoming vaccine program.
  • Provide staff education regularly at staff meeting about any updates according to guidelines for vaccines.
  • Complete any audit information and yearly program review for State of Wyoming vaccine program.
  • Will be the point of contract with any correspondence from State of Wyoming and will coordinate meeting/updates to other departments as needed.
  • Will be the point of contact with the WYIR (Wyoming Immunization Registry) for log in access for staff/end users.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the State of Wyoming.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider.
  • 2 years experience in clinical informatics, preferred, not required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, compute rate, ratio, and percent in order to accurately determine medication dosages and establish accurate intravenous rates.
  • Knowledgeable in metric and appropriate measurements and can convert from one system to the other as needed.
  • Competency in computer skills and systems-word, excel, Microsoft 365, and willingness to learn electronic applications.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Speak and document clearly and concisely.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with members of the Health Care Team.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of cost effective patient/resident care delivery.
