Powell Valley Healthcare Infusion Services is here for you and your family. Under Dr. Carletta Collins‘ leadership, our team is committed to providing you the same care and service we would expect for our loved ones. Infusion services are provided at Powell Valley Hospital Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Powell Valley Healthcare Infusion Services provides patients the treatments they need without having to travel out of the area.

Our Infusion Team works closely with you, your family and your doctor to ensure that you receive the best quality care and understand your treatments. Our infusion center offers the following services:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Rheumatology medications
  • Biologic treatments
  • IV Hydration
  • Blood Transfusion
  • Medication Injections

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is a treatment that uses drugs to reduce or stop the growth of cancer cells.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is the treatment or prevention of disease (such as an autoimmune disorder, allergy, or cancer) that involves the stimulation, enhancement, suppression, or desensitization of the immune system.

Hematology

Hematology pertains to the anatomy, physiology, pathology, symptomatology, and therapeutics related to the blood and blood-forming tissues.

Biotherapy

Biotherapy uses substances made from living organisms to treat disease, including cancer and a variety of non-cancerous conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Antibiotic Therapy

Antibiotic therapy treatment works by killing or inhibiting the growth of specific bacteria.

Blood Product Transfusion

Blood is typically transfused when you have low blood counts.

Injections

Injections are given for various reasons, such as for treatment of osteoporosis.

Infusion Care Nurses

Our infusion care staff are registered nurses specifically trained to provide you with an individualized treatment plan that fits your needs.



They have specialized training in chemotherapy and biotherapy through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and continually complete training to stay up-to-date on current best practices in order to provide you with the best care.

Our staff will carefully monitor your treatment and we will provide medication education including potential interactions and side effects. We understand that receiving treatments can be overwhelming and we will do our best to provide the support you need, including:

  • Flexible appointment scheduling
  • Medical procedure assistance
  • Coordinating support services
  • Assisting with financial support

To ensure your comfort during treatments, family members are welcome to be with you. We will also provide warm blankets and treats as well as flat screen televisions and free Wi-Fi.
