Beginning February 11, Heart Mountain Construction will start work on the retail pharmacy project at Powell Valley Healthcare. The construction will take place in the area between the main hospital lobby and the existing pharmacy. The project will continue through early June and will include remodel work in the front lobby. PVHC patients and visitors can continue to use the main hospital entrance, but can expect some redirecting in the main lobby/entrance over the course of the project. "We will continue to process patient registrations, doing our best to make sure it is as smooth and convenient as possible during this exciting time," said Kelly McMillen, director of registration.

"We are excited to get this project started and look forward to bringing a new retail pharmacy service to the community," said Terry Odom, CEO. "The pharmacy will give the community another convenient option for pharmacy services, and will offer a drive-up window for picking up prescriptions. This new pharmacy location will make it much easier for patients to obtain needed medications when they leave the hospital," said Odom.

In addition to the retail pharmacy, the construction project will also include a remodel of the hospital lobby. When completed, the lobby will include two registration stations designed to ensure patient privacy upon registration and improve the flow of the registration process.

Powell Hospital District awarded the contract for the project to Heart Mountain Construction. The anticipated completion date is June 28. After completion, PVHC will secure licensing for the retail pharmacy and plan to open for business by the end of summer or early fall.
